DESCRIPTION:

Sheriff Bob Smith captures wanted fugitive Bob Moore and learns that the young outlaw's real name is the same as his. The boy's sister, who he has not seen since childhood, is arriving from the East. He begs Sheriff Bob to take his place and spare her the humiliation of a brother in prison, and reluctantly, the lawman agrees. Smith welcomes beautiful Molly to live on his ranch, but despite trying to resist, falls in love with his "sister." An informer tells him that Bob Moore's former gang is planning to bust him out of jail so that they can murder him. So Bob Smith rides off to save what he hopes is his future brother-in-law.

Cowboy screen legend Harry Carey appeared as "Cheyenne" Harry Morgan in a series of hit 1917-1919 Universal westerns by director John Ford. In 1925, when Beyond the Border was released, Carey was one of Hollywood's highest paid superstars. Although well into his 50s at its outset, the sound era saw him go on to deliver powerful performances in legendary motion pictures includingTrader Horn (1931), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) (for which he received a best supporting actor Oscar nomination), and Howard Hawks' Red River (1948) with John Wayne.

Harry poses as his long-lost brother. Silent.
