DESCRIPTION:

In 1897, Nevada legalizes boxing and it's announced that Carson City will host the upcoming match between heavyweight champ "Gentleman Jim" Corbett and challenger Robert Fitzsimmons. While preparing for the bout, Corbett stays at the home of Red Ryder's aunt "The Duchess," which enables Red and his young Indian sidekick Little Beaver to get acquainted with this new, "scientific" style of fighting. Molly, a hot-tempered local gal, vehemently opposes the then-disreputable sport and causes problems that Red must cope with. Worse, a gang of outlaws knows that Carson City's banks will be fat with deposits on fight day and are planning to move in for the kill.

Allan "Rocky" Lane and 12-year-old Robert Blake play Ryder and Little Beaver in this well-done B-Western with an offbeat sports history basis. Frequent "Red Ryder" series co-stars Peggy Stewart and Roy Barcroft return in new roles, the latter as the outlaw leader who goes fist to fist with Red in the movie's "main event": a bare-knuckle battle in which Red tests out his newly learned boxing skills.

BONUS: Includes an episode of the classic TV show "Range Rider," starring Jock Mahoney.
