(1963) Roger Browne, Dan Vadis, Susan Paget, Margaret Taylor. This was the first title in a very popular sword and sandal trilogy, yet it was most unusual in that the two follow-up films, Spartacus and the Ten Gladiators and Triumph of the Ten Gladiators (both available from Sinister) are actually prequels. A group of daring gladiators is mistaken for a notorious band of hooded zealots. They are captured by Nero's troops and later scheduled to fight to death in the arena!
