DESCRIPTION:

Race car driver "Blue Streak" Billings learns that the auto dealership run by his girlfriend Betty is about to go belly-up. The only car she's been able to sell was to the wealthy Hiram Smith, and it's always breaking down in the middle of town. Once Billings discovers that Smith is running for sheriff against Betty's father, he suspects the politician of deliberately sabotaging the vehicle. Billings comes up with a spectacular plan to impede Smith's campaign and save the dealership.

Johnny Hines launched his film career in 1914 with Lincoln, The Lover (1914). A comedic silent-film actor, Hines was best known for his appearance as Torchy in the two-reel shorts series of the same name. New Jersey native Faire Binney's first film was Sporting Life (1918), which featured both Binney and her sister, Constance, in its cast. She went on to star in silents such as Here Comes the Bride(1919) with John Barrymore. Frank Losee was an established Broadway actor before appearing on the silver screen in 1915. Two of his most notable films were Ashes of Embers (1916) and D.W. Griffith's Orphans of the Storm (1921). Charles Hines, brother of Johnny Hines as well as actor Samuel E. Hines, directed several silent films during the 1920s, including two "Torchy" pictures andConductor 1492 (1924).
