In May 1968, lawyer Jean-Philippe Duroc visits his client, Martial Gaulard, who has been sentenced to death for a crime he didn't commit. During the visit, a prison mutiny occurs, and Gaulard seizes the opportunity to escape, taking Duroc's clothes and identity. Both men are now fugitives, leading to a series of comedic and chaotic events as they try to evade the authorities.
