DESCRIPTION:

Gerald Whitley is a frustrated writer married to former party girl Dorothy Myers, who still enjoys the company of other men. The unhappy author is envious of his brother George, a painter who beds every model who disrobes for him in his artist's loft. Their sibling rivalry comes to a head when Gerald falls in love with George's newest muse, socialite Joan Channing. Unbeknownst to both men, Dorothy has discovered her husband's affair with the pretty young heiress and plans to use it as grounds for a divorce. With both his brother and his wife against him, Gerald is driven to an act of desperation that just could be fatal for all concerned... This racy pre-Code drama stars silent screen matinee idol Conway Tearle. The following year, Tearle would be a hit on Broadway, originating the role of Larry Renault in Dinner at Eight. He would be passed over in favor of John Barrymore for the 1933 film version. Frances Dade played Lucy in Dracula (1931) opposite Bela Lugosi. Carmel Myers is best known for playing vamps during the silent era, and seduced Ramon Novarro in Ben-Hur (1925). Lina Basquette created a sensation after starring Cecil B. DeMille's The Godless Girl (1929), attracting the obsessive interest of Adolf Hitler. Roscoe Karns had a memorable part in It Happened One Night (1934) and starred in his own series on the DuPont Network, Rocky King, Inside Detective (1950-1954).
