Carol Dempster began her film career with D. W. Griffith's Intolerance (1916) and eventually became Griffith's off-screen love interest. She later appeared in Isn't Life Wonderful (1924) and Sally of the Sawdust (1925), also directed by Griffith. Henry Hull was a successful Broadway actor before he became a film star.
