Accompanied by sidekicks John “Dusty” James, Lee “Lasses” White and Dub “Cannonball” Taylor, Wakely warbled his way through 28 oaters, and this action-packed volume ropes in six of his best, including Silver Trails (1948), which introduces Jimmy’s old pal – and future Monogram sage star – the lash-cracking hero Whip Wilson!
