The first of a proposed series called The Big Town Girls finds big-town girls Judy Davis (June Lang) and Terry Wilson (Lynn Bari)stranded in Hawaii after losing their jobs in a local night club. Then Terry loses all their money in a game of chance. They meet and are dined by Maurice Leon (Erik Rhodes) who tells them he is a famous jewel thief and attempts to enlist their aid in stealing the famous "Ka-meha-mega" diamond from Homer Watson (Gene Lockhart)who is sailing the next day on the "Maori." They refuse but board the ship on the chance of finding something to eat at some passenger's "bon-voyage" party. THey get more to drink than eat, with the result the ship sails with them still on board. When discovered, the ship's captain (Harlan Briggs)puts them to work---Judy as a chambermaid and Terry as a manicurist. The girls see Maurice steal the diamond from Watson's cabin and tell the captain. Then the complications begin, with Judy and Terry being accused of the theft.
