DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Fletcher (J. Carrol Naish), a brilliant but controversial physician, is charged with homicide. At his trial, a bizarre tale of a mysterious ape woman with a bizarre influence over wild animals unfolds via flashbacks. A beautiful woman, Paula (Acquanetta), appears lost and in shock on the grounds of the doctor's sanitarium. Dr. Fletcher conducts diagnostic tests to discover precisely what is wrong with his disturbing new patient. Paula's examination is interrupted by an unexpected visit from Dr. Fletcher's daughter Joan and her fiancé. Feeling an overpowering passion towards Joan's handsome but oblivious fiancé, Paula's animal attraction transforms her into a monstrous creature. When the doctor's efforts to tranquilize her go terribly wrong, it sets her on a savage path of fiendish murder.
