The impoverished Count Lerchenau operates under the name Robert Lindt as a chauffeur. However, it loses its current location, because it is so popular with the ladies. His former servants Ottokar still holds to him and tried to marry Robert rich. However, in the restaurant, where he will make a suitable lady Robert flirting instead with the lovely Alice. In order to obtain a job with President Führing, Robert is a reference to Count Lerchenau. But then Führing want to talk to Lerchenau, and Franz has to play the role of the Count. Alice, it turns out, is Führings niece. When she learns that Robert is only chauffeur, she wants nothing to do with him. After all sorts of turmoil they find still another.
