DESCRIPTION:

Tall, dark and handsome Buddy Roosevelt top-lined scores of Westerns both before and after the advent of talking pictures. In 1933-34, his "last hurrah" as a cowboy lead was in a series of four films for director Victor Adamson (aka Denver Dixon), a quartet that includes these two rip-roaring adventures.

Boss Cowboy (1934, B&W): Buddy, foreman of the rustler-plagued Flying-N Ranch, suspects that some of the men at the neighboring ranch are responsible for the cattle thefts. The guilty party is the neighbor's foreman, who soon adds murder to his list of crimes. Starring Buddy Roosevelt, Frances Morris, George Chesebro, Fay McKenzie, Lafe McKee; Directed by Victor Adamson.

Lightning Range (1933, B&W): In this remake of Buddy's Galloping Jinx (1925), he's a marshal pursuing a gang of robbers. These polecats are ruthless; throwing dynamite at Buddy and trapping him in a burning cabin. Buddy stays on their trail despite unexpected twists - including marriage to a complete stranger whose father's will specified that she had to wed in the next 15 minutes or be disinherited! Starring Buddy Roosevelt, Patsy Bellamy, Lafe McKee, Olin Francis, Si Jenks; Directed by Denver Dixon (Victor Adamson).

In this drama, a cafe singer gets into deep financial trouble. Fortunately, a group of amiable sailors endeavor to save her. One of them falls in love with her and nearly abandons his Navy career to be with her until the whole mess is cleared up.
