Publicity man Bob Preston is hell bent on making his beautiful fiancée June a star and pulls out all the stops to make it happen. June's stardom drives an inevitable wedge between the couple once June realizes Bob may be more invested in her success than in romance. June leaves Bob behind for another, wealthier man, but is forced to rethink her decision.

The Wampas Baby Stars were a product of the Western Association of Motion Picture Advertisers and consisted of a group of young actresses annually chosen to represent Hollywood's best new female talent. The campaign ran from 1922 to 1934 and included stars like Clara Bow and Ginger Rogers. Silent film actor William Haines appeared in a few talkies films before his acting career fizzled. Born in Manhattan, Judith Allen started out as a model and was signed to Paramount after being discovered by Cecil B. DeMille. She then starred in his 1933 film This Day and Age and went on to appear in several westerns, including Boots and Saddles (1937) with Gene Autry. Joseph Santley was a director, writer, and producer mostly for Poverty Row film projects. He's best known for his Marx Brothers comedy The Cocoanuts (1929).
