*Siege* (1978) is an American made-for-television drama directed by Richard Pearce. The film is set in a crime-ridden neighborhood where elderly residents of a dilapidated apartment building are increasingly targeted by a gang led by a young thug named Simon (Dorian Harewood). As the victims are too fearful to testify, the police are unable to intervene effectively. The situation escalates, leading to tragic consequences, including the suicide of Henry Fancher's (Martin Balsam) sweetheart, Lillian Gordon (Sylvia Sidney). Devastated by the loss, Fancher takes matters into his own hands, devising a plan to confront the gang and restore justice to the community.
