Williams is the leader of a troop of Union soldiers guarding a shipment of gold right after the end of the Civil War. Defeated Confederate soldiers plot to steal the gold for money when they return to their homelands that had been overrun with the battles of the savage war. Struggling to keep his own soldiers from mutinying to get the gold for themselves, he must muster a defense against the rebel soldiers led by Dexter.
